Statement of Faith

The following are the statements of Bible teaching as believed and taught by the Bezildit Ministry, aka Empowering Gospel Church. This statement of faith has its source in the Bible and is in total agreement with the Word of God.

I. We believe that there is only one God, the Creator and Ruler of the universe, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (commonly known as the Trinity). (Genesis 1:1; 26,27; 3;22; Psalm 90:2 Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthian 13:14; 1 Peter 1:2, Eph 4:5-6).

II. We believe Jesus Christ is the son of God. He is coequal with the father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people. We believe in his deity (John 1:1-4; John 10:30; Hebrews 1:1-5).

• He was born of a virgin (Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:30-35)
• He was conceived of the Holy Ghost (Matthew 1:18-25, Luke 1:30-35)
• He died (John 19:30-35)
• He rose again from the dead bodily (John 20:25-29, Luke 24:36-40)
• He ascended into heaven bodily (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Matthew 29-30).
• He will return again someday to earth to reign as king of kings and lord of lords.

III. We believe the Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He provides them with the power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer spiritual gifts when they are saved. Christians yield to and trust the Holy Spirit to enable them to live holy, loving, and productive lives that bear much fruit and glorify God. (John 16:7-13,14;16,17;Acts 1:8, 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3;16; 2 Corinthians 3:17; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 1:13;5:18).

• We believe that personal salvation comes through spiritual rebirth, made possible by the power of the Holy Spirit and the truth of God’s Word (Titus 2:5; John 3:3-5; Ephesians 5:25-27).
• We believe that receiving the Holy Spirit empowers individuals with divine strength to serve and bear witness to Christ (Acts 1:8; 2:4; 3:1-26; 4:5-12).
• We believe in the transforming and purifying work of the Holy Spirit, which sets believers apart for holy living (Romans 15:16; 1 Corinthians 6:11).

IV. We believe that the Bible contains the inspired and infallible Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21). It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture of error. (Psalm 119:105-160, Proverbs 30:5; 2 Timothy 3:16; 1:13; 2 Peter 1:20-21).

V. We believe in telling others about Christ. It is a privilege as Christians to share the Good News with those whom God brings into our lives. We share our personal experience about Christ and invite friends to the church. “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.” (1 Peter 3:15).
